<h3>Recognizing the power of understanding in our lives.</h3><p>Some of you who have read my previous posts would recognize my reverence for my grandmother and how much of a positive influence and force she was in my life and upbringing. She was a woman known for her care and wisdom, often saying, "You never know what someone is going through unless you live their lives" As a child, I was puzzled. How could I live another person's life? As I grew older, the profound meaning behind these words began to sink in - it was all about empathy.</p><p>So, why focus on empathy? In a nutshell, empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. It's not about solving problems or offering advice; it's about genuinely feeling what another person is going through. <p>Over the past month, we've delved into the four key principles that drive success: ecosystem-centric thinking, diversity-first mindset, people-centered design, and value-cocreation. This idea stuck with me. I grew up learning to listen, adapt, and follow the accepted norms. It was a way to navigate within the established paradigms. However, I quickly realized the importance of sharing my unique voice, views, and lived experiences. It became clear that we needed to include perspectives from every part of the value chain, not just the customer. This realization led me to set up Advisory Councils and peer-to-peer groups; these became incredible incubators and testing grounds for fresh ideas.</p><p>I learned to appreciate ethnography approaches and design thinking principles along my journey. I've been exposed to service-dominant logic's brilliance and value cocreation's vitality when treating industry as ecosystems comprising various actors. In a world where roles can shift, and multiple viewpoints are at play, gaining insights from various levels is crucial. Even machines and technology add to the diversity, as evident with the advent of generative AI. Designing for customer impact increases engagement and improves lifetime customer value and advocacy. Building trust with clients comes from listening to and, more importantly, acting on their feedback.
