Some of you who have read my previous posts would recognize my reverence for my grandmother and how much of a positive influence and force she was in my life and upbringing. She was a woman known for her care and wisdom, often saying, "You never know what someone is going through unless you live their lives" As a child, I was puzzled. How could I live another person's life? As I grew older, the profound meaning behind these words began to sink in - it was all about empathy.
So, why focus on empathy? In a nutshell, empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. It's not about solving problems or offering advice; it's about genuinely feeling what another person is going through. It sounds pretty simple; empathy takes on a new level of importance in our increasingly interconnected world.
